Professional Background,
Alastair practiced as a Barrister in the UK for 10 years before joining HSM. Throughout his practice he managed cases regarding the Immigration Rules and associated Acts, asylum, points based visas, deportations, leave to enter, leave to remain, indefinite leave to remain and so forth. With a holistic approach to immigration cases, he advises on a wide-range of employment matters including: race discrimination, disability discrimination, sex discrimination, unfair dismissal, matters arising from protected disclosures, breach of contract and more. In addition to his extensive experience in immigration and employment, Alastair’s civil practice areas include: personal injury, breach of contract, credit hire agreements, landlord / tenant claims and building disputes.
Alastair has represented clients before the Labour Tribunal and Labour Appeals Tribunal in respects to employment issues and has represented clients before the Summary Court, Grand Court and Court of Appeal in regards to immigration matters in the Cayman Islands.
